Who, what, when, where, why, and how do you believe?

By Taegan F

Belief is what I believe to be the most powerful force in the world. The unexplainable creative flow and belief go hand in hand and work together in an alchemical way. Feelings hold different weight, and belief is light and fast, like the colour purple – which is associated with royalty and wisdom. The Vedic’s believed in a chakra system, different energy points running through the human body like little wheels taking in and spinning out energies. There are 7 most popular ones and at the one at the base of the head is most known as the crown chakra – it is purple and represents higher consciousness, interconnectivity, and universal wisdom. It is known to carry belief is to know the world. To know reality. Believing in anything is fuel for life itself.

Belief explains the power of religious groups. Bringing people together with a shared belief amplifies the effect of that belief. It gives a sense of community and purpose. Even if you don’t follow a religion or have spiritual beliefs; the belief in yourself, your path, community, whatever it may be, has astronomical effects on your quality of life.  Some feelings like guilt, shame, and worry can really weigh you down, dysregulate your nervous system, and cause diseases if left unattended over time. Belief will liberate you from heavier feelings and keep you in a light, breezy, flow state. It makes it all worth it. I’m sure everyone knows, or at least can feel, what it’s like to be around somebody who is always worrying and insecure versus someone that is confidence and believes in themselves.

When someone believes, it affects everyone and everything in whispers. I remember being asked months ago, after a New Year’s party, while sipping hot chocolate if I was religious and I replied “no, but I am a believer”. I believe in a force out there that is beyond me, and that comes in many forms. In mother nature and her weather, in love, and in God. Using the word God can be rub people the wrong way and people are often surprised when I’m open about my belief in God.

My mom would always say things like “oh my, stupid Christians believing there’s a man in the sky”, but is that what they really believe or is that what she thought they believed? I believe in God, and it isn’t a man in the sky, it’s the force of nature, life, love, and magic that cannot be explained or conceptualized, whereas my mom believed other people saw God as a different figure. Which is part of the beauty of belief because whatever we believe, is therefore true to us. Different religions have different form of God, different manifestations of form or formless, and that’s the beauty of it. I love that God is fluid, seen different, and up to individual interpretation and feeling, just like all of us. It is said we are children of God and reflections of his making. Each of us will be interpreted differently depending on who is seeing us. Everyone sees and believes through a different lens, making us more and more like God. Believing in God, for me, is believing in the unknown and believing in different beliefs and possibilities.

Taegan has been writing practically from the first time she held a pencil. By letting an unknown force take over, words, ideas, and inspirations flow on countless sheets of paper. By allowing this divine force in, not only do words appear, but her spirit grows, inspiring others to chase their dreams, follow their heart, and honour the discernment of the mind. A powerful feminine force, she honours the balance of all energies, making it her dharma to create and inspire harmony.
