Right Here, Right Now

We are living on a rock moving through space in the midst of a boundless cosmos with no final end. Everyone you’ve ever known and everyone who’s ever lived has called this rock home. The insignificance of our existence is clear, but in this vast nothingness we find ourselves so deeply wound, we are invited to find our place in the grand tapestry of existence.

Scientists estimate the probability of you being born is 1 in 400,000,000,000,000. That’s one in four hundred trillion. Go back to your great-great-grandparents and 128 people had to meet, form a relationship, and have a child; and that is only four generations back. If we assume humans have been alive for 3 million years, there have been 150,000 generations. Every single one of your ancestors had to meet at the right place and right time for you to be here. Then the right sperm had to meet the right egg. The odds of this are 1 in 400,000,000,000,000,000. That’s one in 400 quadrillion.

The idea that everything happens for a reason speaks to a cosmic order or divine plan. It suggests that every event in your life, no matter how trivial or catastrophic, is a thread woven into the intricate design of the universe. This notion is an invitation to discover the profound interconnectedness of all things.

In the reflection of the mirror you'll find a cosmic miracle.

Our lives are not mere accidents, but purposeful journeys with lessons to learn. Each lesson becomes a brushstroke on the canvas of our existence. Even when we cannot find the reason immediately, it is as if the universe has a masterful plan, orchestrating our experiences in a harmonious symphony.

In realizing the cosmic miracle you are, you are invited to look beyond the surface of events and circumstances. Close your eyes, look within; consider the possibility that there is a greater intelligence at work, guiding you towards growth and self-realization. See moments of difficulty as omens that offer the opportunity to discover that you are not alone, but instead moving through a transformative process.

The belief that everything happens for a reason does not release us of our role as conscious beings. Instead, it invites us to intentionally engage with our experiences, seeking to uncover the hidden wisdom within. We are asked to reflect on the choices we make and the paths we take, recognizing that even our free will is a part of the cosmic design.

The belief that everything happens for a reason is a reminder that our lives are a part of a larger story yet to unfold. Know that the next chapter will come when it is meant to. When you embrace the mystery, you will find meaning in the most unexpected places. This philosophy calls us to look at the ordinary as extraordinary, and in the process develop a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all things. In doing so, we may find comfort, meaning, and a profound sense of unity with the universe.

Yes, we are floating on a rock suspended in nothingness—but that is what makes us special. You are meant to be here. You are exactly where you are supposed to be.
